Youthvotephilippines is a consolidated force of progressive, reform-minded youth groups and organizations working toward voters’ education and empowerment. It aims to develop online and on-the-ground programs and events that will give young Filipinos the power of the vote and a clear voice for their collective aspirations.
Its four-point program agenda consists of: (1) voters’ registration; (2) on-the-ground voters’ education; (3) an online portal for comprehensive candidate information; and (4) the development of a youth agenda for policy-making and action.

Sitting in the "silence" of the De La Salle - College of San Benilde Auditorium, I am writing my first live blog. Nines (Nina Terol) is giving a talk on Blogging as the new platform of identity, expressions and even of political involvement. I have just finished my talk on why we should register and vote... by MARIA ALTHEA TEVES, abs-cbnNEWS.com/Newsbreak | 03/15/2009 5:48 AM

Barack Obama used the Internet as a marketing tool to rally America’s youth for his 2008 presidential campaign and he's now president of the United States.

Youth Vote Philippines, an organization dedicated to voters’ education and empowerment, wants to see a similar outcome in the Philippines.

But would voters’ education and youth empowerment through the Internet be effective in the Philippines?
